Chapter 16 – Shopping

Unit 3 — Conversations

Model dialogue

These model dialogues help you practise simple, polite Nepali for everyday shopping. You will practise asking prices, checking freshness, requesting a small discount, choosing items and quantities (e.g., ek kilo, duī kilo), responding politely, adding one more item with pani “also,” and asking the total: jammā kati rupaiyā̃ bhayo? You will also hear the common shop question arū kehi cāhincha? “Anything else?”

Buying Fruit

A customer buys apples and bananas at a fruit shop.
